Beehiiv (newsletter platform): Your name and email address are transmitted to Beehiiv, our email service provider, solely to deliver the Good News Brief newsletter. Beehiiv processes this data under their own Privacy Policy;
Public petition results: Aggregated signature counts and, if you have provided consent, your name may appear in publicly shared petition results submitted to legislators or published in the media. We will never publicly share your email address;
Legal obligations: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, or investigate fraud;
Business transfers: In the unlikely event of a merger, acquisition, or transfer of petition assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy:

Petition signatures are retained indefinitely as part of the official petition record;
Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe. After unsubscribing, your email is removed from active mailing lists within 10 business days, though a suppression record may be kept to honor your opt-out preference;
Technical log data is retained for up to 90 days.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

Access: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
Correction: You may request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
Deletion: You may request deletion of your personal information. Note that petition signatures, once submitted, may be retained as part of the official record even if other data is removed;

Opt out of future campaigns: You may request that we not contact you about future petition campaigns.
